UIG Conference 2025: Focus on health and well-being
On 24. The UIG conference is back on September 25 – this time with a topic that affects us all: health and well-being. Experts, developers, UX designers and product owners will meet to exchange ideas, gain new perspectives and learn about specific methods for user-friendly digital products.
“This year’s theme is health and well-being,” explains Janina Kouvaris, Managing Director of UIG. UIG e. V. was founded in 2013 from the project consortium “UIG – A Usability Management Concept and Consultant Network for SMEs” and sees itself as a bridge between companies on the one hand and UX professionals on the other.
UIG e. V. offers various support services to help entrepreneurs recognize that the use and implementation of UUX in their companies can be key to their success. Another offer for interested parties is the UIG conference.
From ePA to yoga in the office
While last year’s focus was on “People and AI”, this year’s focus is on everything to do with health: from medical products to yoga in the office. The first focus: Healthcare. This is about “how digital products are designed in the healthcare sector – including the question of which regulations need to be observed,” explains Kouvaris.
But health does not end with medical applications: The topic of well-being in the workplace is also an important item on the agenda. “How can we also increase the well-being of users by designing products in a user-friendly digital way, for example?” says Kouvaris. “Today, digital products and services are no longer just simple tools, but are becoming more and more deeply integrated into everyday life and our working environment. With this central role also comes a responsibility towards users to design digital products and services in such a way that they do not negatively impact the health of users.”

From AI to loneliness: variety of topics & speakers
Various experts were invited to this year’s program – “for example, the person who helped develop the electronic patient file,” says Kouvaris. The variety of topics ranges from loneliness in old age to user-friendly product development with personas and light, interactive formats.
A particular highlight is Sabrina von Nessen’s contribution on the topic of well-being in the age of AI.
Workshops for Juniors & Seniors
As every year, the UIG conference is primarily aimed at UX designers, product owners and developers. Between lectures, 90-minute workshop sessions on the first day and four-hour deep dives on the second day, there is a suitable format for all interested parties.
The intensive workshops in particular enable participants not only to listen, but also to apply what they have learned in a direct exchange.
