Public KA-WLAN

KA-WLAN is a free Internet service for Karlsruhe and the region, which is now available at around 100 hotspots in and around Karlsruhe. Whether with a smartphone, tablet or laptop – citizens, students, business travelers and tourists can surf the Internet for free without time limits or data volume restrictions.

Surf securely with KA-sWLAN:

After a one-off registration, KA-sWLAN allows secure encrypted surfing at all KA-WLAN hotspots – naturally also free of charge and without data limits. KA-WLAN is a joint project of INKA e.V., CyberForum e.V. and the Science Office of the City of Karlsruhe.

LoRaWan “Long Range Wide Area Network”

Stadtwerke Karlsruhe is currently building a comprehensive infrastructure to cover the entire city area with the internationally standardized radio technology “Long Range Wide Area Network” (LoRaWAN).
LoRaWAN offers a cost-effective and energy-saving way to intelligently network Karlsruhe: from parking lot sensors and indoor humidity meters to remote radio monitoring of transformer stations.
