hallo.digital is back in the madhouse
Karlsruhe convention hallo.digital on May 31 and June 1
Online banking, messenger services and tickets on cell phones: step by step, digital services have penetrated people’s everyday lives. But where are the limits of digitalization and when does technical assistance with mundane activities become a laughing stock? Ömer Atiker provides answers to such questions with his keynote “Fluffy robots! Self-driving beer! Garbage cans with internet connection!” at the hallo.digital convention in Karlsruhe.
The online pioneer and digital consultant will open the two-day networking event on May 31 and June 1 in Karlsruhe’s Tollhaus with his deliberately provocative look at the sensible and less sensible developments in the IT industry. After two years in corona mode, it definitely makes sense for the event team to return to the cultural center on the grounds of the Alter Schlachthof creative park. “It’s great that we can meet on site again,” says organizer Julia Marckert. The conference also offers a hybrid format. On the first day, presentations on the main stage will be broadcast live on the internet for participants outside of Karlsruhe.

Networking in a friendly atmosphere
The networking event for the regional digital industry is organized by Karlsruhe-based Unternehmensberatung netzstrategen GmbH. In addition to the keynote speeches by Ömer Atiker and netzstrategen Managing Director André Hellmann, who will conclude the event with a talk on “The internet in 2022 – the good, the bad and the ugly”, there will also be numerous specialist presentations and workshops. In addition to the ambience in the Kreativpark, the supporting program with food trucks, lounge and live music also ensures a good atmosphere. “People should simply feel comfortable,” says Julia Marckert.
The fact that small talk on the sidelines of a conference works better at a face-to-face event than at virtual events was an important insight from the coronavirus crisis for the hallo.digital team. “Of course you can also network digitally,” says Julia Marckert. But creating a relaxed setting for chatting at and encouraging people to stay is always best achieved at a face-to-face meeting at with good food and cool drinks.

Share experiences
The focus of this year’s content at is on developments over the past two years. “An incredible amount has happened in the digital industry during the corona crisis,” emphasizes Julia Marckert. That’s why the conference also aims to provide impetus for the implementation of trends in everyday working life. One focal point is the presentation by Maria Lorenz-Bokeler on podcasts for companies. “Everyone listens to podcasts privately these days,” says Julia Marckert. “But in the workplace the medium still plays a minor role.”
From after work to the digital convention
The management consultancy netzstrategen was founded in 2010 by André Hellmann . Today, several dozen employees take care of the internet strategies of newspaper publishers, companies and institutions. Since 2013, netzstrategen has been inviting colleagues from the digital sector to a lecture followed by a discussion at once a month at . “It’s Karlsruhe’s biggest flat-sharing party,” says André Hellmann. Over the years, has also created a functioning network of internet experts from all over the region.

Due to the positive response to the Feierabend, the hallo.digital convention was launched in 2017. By holding a specialist event in the Kreativpark, including a closing party in the Fettschmelze, the event deliberately broke new ground, says André Hellmann. “That’s something different from holding lectures in a sterile congress center.”
