InnovationFestival @karlsruhe.digital is in the starting blocks

The InnovationFestival @karlsruhe.digital will take place on October 16, 2020. Both online and offline. The Call for Presentations has already started. IT companies, research facilities and cultural institutions in Karlsruhe have until September 6 to apply.

Last year, the first Colourful Night of Digitalization took place in Karlsruhe. The aim of the event was to bring all facets of digitalization to life in a city festival of digital ideas and solutions. 100 partners from science, business, administration and culture came together to give the 6,000 visitors an insight into the world of digitalization with over 200 programme items.

The second edition of the Colourful Night of Digitalization was actually due to take place this year. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the karlsruhe.digital initiative has decided to postpone the event until 2021 – and instead created the InnovationFestival as a virtual replacement event. This celebrates the diversity and uniqueness of Karlsruhe’s innovations in the digital sector on October 16, 2020.

InnovationFestival: Lectures on Stage at the ZKM – streamed live

At the InnovationFestival @karlsruhe.digital on October 16, 2020 from 2 p.m., companies and institutions will present the diversity of Karlsruhe’s digital scene live in 10-minute keynote speeches. In keeping with the spirit of the times, the entire InnovationFestival will be streamed live – free of charge and without registration.

The InnovationFestival has primarily been conceived as a virtual event that will be given a real stage by the Karlsruhe ZKM | Center for Art and Media. The extent to which the public can participate on site will be decided at short notice in accordance with the current regulations for face-to-face events.

InnovationFestival: Apply now!

Parallel to the preparations for the InnovationFestival, the call for presentations is already underway! Whether you are an innovative Karlsruhe IT company, research institution or cultural institution – anyone who is helping to shape digitalization and bring it to life has the opportunity to present their digital highlights live on stage at the ZKM on 16 October 2020.

Call for Presentations: Send your application by September 6, 2020 in the form of an informative, maximum 2-page document and / or short videos with a maximum length of 1.5 minutes to event@karlsruhe.digital!

The jury, consisting of members of the karlsruhe.digital steering committee, will then decide which digital transformation projects will receive a stage slot at the InnovationFestival – and will be able to introduce the audience from all over Germany to Karlsruhe as a digital location.
