HackDays Karlsruhe 2025: Open Data against the polycrisis!
The HackDays Karlsruhe 2025 are part of the international Open Data Day – a global day of action that highlights the potential of open data. 🌍💡
Under this year’s motto “Open Data to Tackle the Polycrisis”, we are bringing together creative minds at the Karlsruhe HackDays to develop solutions for urban and social challenges using open data.

📍 Location: House of Living Labs at the FZI | Research Center for Information Technology
What can you expect at HackDays?
The HackDays are more than just a hackathon! It’s about interdisciplinary collaboration with open data to develop smart and sustainable solutions. Whether you can code, are creative or simply interested in data – you can take part!

🗓 S chedule of the HackDays 2025
Here is an overview of the preliminary program:
🕔 Friday, March 7
- 17:00: Welcome & presentation of the projects
- 18:10: Team finding & start of hacking
- 21:00: End of the first day
🕙 Saturday, March 8
- 10:00 am: Check-in & further work on the projects
- 17:30: Presentation of the results
- 20:00: Conclusion + idea for continuation
💡 Catering included: drinks, fruit, snacks and breakfast & lunch on Saturday.
Follow-up: Data café for project continuation
The work on the projects continues after the HackDays, if you want! You can continue working with others at the DatenCafé at the ZKM.
