Exchange, new ideas, new contacts and enjoyment of the shared topic

“The fact that so many partners have accepted the invitation again this year and are participating with such diversity clearly shows that the Colourful Night of Digitalization is exactly the right format to promote and strengthen Karlsruhe’s positioning as a digital stronghold ,” explains First Mayor and Chairwoman of the karlsruhe.digital initiative, Gabriele Luczak-Schwarz, who is responsible for the lead project karlsruhe.digital on behalf of the city as part of its corridor theme “Business and Science City Karlsruhe” and also communicates this to the outside world as a “place of opportunity”. The nationwide unique networking of business, science, administration and culture within karlsruhe.digital can be experienced by all visitors during the Colourful Night of Digitalization. At various stands in the foyer and in the DigitalLab in the town hall, interested parties can exchange information about current digital projects of the administration. “From 24 June , a streetcar will promote the Colourful Night of Digitalization, the business and science city of Karlsruhe and our diverse city centre,” says Luczak-Schwarz.

Martin Hubschneider, Chairman of the karlsruhe.digital initiative, founder of the software company CAS Software AG and Managing Director of the high-tech network CyberForum, which organizes the Colourful Night of Digitalization together with the Science Office of the City of Karlsruhe , also sees a lot of potential in Karlsruhe. Young and ambitious start-ups and specialists in particular benefit from the closely networked ecosystem of administration, business and science. “In particular for IT specialists looking for new employers, the Bunte Nacht der Digitalisierung is an excellent opportunity to gain informal access to Karlsruhe’s digital world and companies have the chance to present themselves as attractive employers,” says Hubschneider.

The groundbreaking innovations, which the excellent university and research landscape produces, are also particularly evident on July 1. Science plays an outstanding role in the digitalization of our society. Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President of KIT for Transfer and International Affairs and Chairman of the karlsruhe.digital initiative, is particularly concerned with the transfer to the economy and urban society. The Bunte Nacht der Digitalisierung (Colourful Night of Digitalization) is an excellent contribution to this, he says : “At Karlsruhe universities, we are researching sustainable solutions for the long-term challenges facing society in order to meet the enormous social and ecological challenges of our time at . To this end, it is essential to engage with people in order to establish a constant dialog and ensure that communication on topics and scientific findings is not a one-way street.” For example, numerous universities and research institutions are involved in a wide range of activities at the Colourful Night of Digitalization.

The participating partners present themselves at the Colourful Night of Digitalization with a wide variety of offers, such as workshops, lectures, guided tours, competitions and much more. The individual program items will be presented via the social media channels of the karlsruhe.digital initiative (#DigitaleNachtKA) and via the website https://www.bunte-nacht-karlsruhe.digital. Here you will also find the issuing points for the wristbands for free use of public transport services.
