Germany's first direct e-mail arrived in Karlsruhe 35 years ago
35 years ago, on August 3, 1984 at 10:14 a.m. Central European Time, the first direct e-mail in Germany landed in the mailboxes of Werner Zorn, then Head of the Computer Science Department at the University of Karlsruhe. And today, thanks to WEB.DE and GMX, the fan-shaped city still plays an important role in the further development of electronic mail.
