The Learning Workshop at the Baden State Library was opened yesterday. You can still experience the opening program until the end of the week. Maren Kr\u00e4hling-Pilarek gives us an overview of the program during the opening week and beyond. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Visitors can expect extensive equipment in the learning workshop. There are touch displays<\/a>, a media studio<\/a>, two editing suites<\/a>, a wide range of media technology<\/a> that can be borrowed, a charging station, freely usable design thinking materials<\/a> and a hybrid seminar room. <\/p>\n\n

After years of studying, working and learning within their own four walls, most people are used to customizing their workplace. The State Library has also understood this: Maren Kr\u00e4hling-Pilarek reports that the space is “flexibly furnished so that users can simply arrange the space themselves as they wish.” <\/p>\n\n

In addition, the new learning workshop offers versatile and modern equipment: “You’re basically working in digital and analog space at the same time. That’s why the equipment we offer people has to be able to do that,” explains Kr\u00e4hling-Pilarek. <\/p>\n\n

Kr\u00e4hling-Pilarek explains that there is also movement within the library premises: “Throughout the planning of the learning workshop, we realized that learning works better when you move around and don’t always just stay serious and sit in a chair. And that’s why we asked the Institute of Sport and Sports Science at KIT to cooperate with us. As part of her bachelor’s thesis on movement-oriented learning, a student has now written a concept for how we can get our visitors moving more. It’s a sporty, digital rally through the library and exercise breaks. We hope that people will join in and be infected by our joy.”<\/p>\n\n

For all those who spend most of their time in the digital space, there are touch displays that visitors can use to connect to their devices and work together. There is also a seminar room that is technically equipped so that workshops, lectures or seminars can be held there both on site and in hybrid form. <\/p>\n\n
